Marrisa Johnson, Lesson 2, 22/09/15.
Filming & Editing.
Today we recapped on different camera shots, angles, white balance and rule of 3rd.
We recapped over how to set up a tripod the right way and then dismantle it the right way.
We then looked at different shot types such as, Jib, Panning, Tilting and Steady cam.
We then went out and filmed some of the clips I listed above and they turned out good. We had to do a shot that required me walking past the camera and Emma following where i walked by moving the camera, from right to left, left to right. We then had to do a head to toe shot where Emma had to stand still whilst i slowly looked up and down on her whilst she was stood and i kept to the rule of 3rd and kept the shot in the right frame. We then had to record where the camera was still but i had to walk past the camera which was referred to movement within a shot. After this we then learnt more about the Jib shot by watching a tutorial on you tube and we had an attempt on doing this. We then looked at the editing software and learnt a simple trick which was cutting the video down to what clip we wanted and then moving it onto the video. For this i had to edit the original clip in the top left corner which whilst i was editing it, I could preview it on the top right screen. Once finished with the editing, I had to drag the finished clip down and it was then edited and ready to use for further editing. We then finished the lesson by packing away the camera, packing away the tripod and then uploading the clips from my Sd card onto my pen drive.
So today i learnt different types of shots and what they mean. I now know how to set up and pack away a tripod on my own as i didnt pick it up last week. I know how to white balance and set up the camera correctly.
To improve next week i should pay attention some more as i lost focus on what i was meant to be doing as i was interested in the editing software and tried to do my own thing with the video as video editing is the part of media that interests me aswell as photo shopping which again is editing in general.
